Watched it last night, absolutely bloody brilliant, and a trip back to my younger days remembering him at the Olympics, Superstars and the Decathlon RSI inducing video game - great times!
However, whilst it does show Daley as a dedicated, focused and incredibly talented athlete, it also shows his nasty side, verging on sexist and homophobic, he had a great opportunity while on camera to apologise for some of his actions, he clearly chose not to.

One of my golfing crew has met him a few times as his daughter is a good athlete and said he is an utter arrogant prick lol. He's also met Denise Lewis and said she was incredibly friendly and pleasant to everyone.

I loved the program. Daley was a hero growing up. I think some of his stunts were of their time (god, what a feeble excuse) - ill thought out, rather than particularly malicious… I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
Yes, he was arrogant, but he had a lot to be arrogant about! Simply the greatest British athlete of all time and on the same rarified level as Bolt, Lewis, Michael Johnson, Ed Moses and Mike Powell on the World stage.
Great to see him still with a twinkle in his eye.
It was awesome to hear Seb Coe refer to him as his best mate and to say “feck” a couple of times… it portrayed him in a very different (humanised and funny) light.

As usual I agree with threehundred regarding my memories of Daley - I can live with the whistling of the National Anthem, I guess back then PR advisors were few and far between, BUT the t-shirt thing was appalling, and unnecessary, he had the chance in the documentary to reflect and apologise, he didn’t, which I’m afraid is a missed opportunity for his legacy |

Will have a look...was definitely a sporting hero from a time when British winners were thin on the ground. Good shout out for Decathlon game... not that I do such often now, but my data entry speed is off the scale and I think Decathlon is a large part of the reason for that |

Watched the first half of this last night, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing the end, I've only really seen the up and coming part of his career so far and he comes out of it well. I know there's more to it though so glad to hear from you guys that it shows it all.

I used to play it every week after swimming lessons. I got on the high scores page… great, because I was terrible at athletics (apart from the 400m and discuss for some reason) and even worse at swimming. Ball sports were always my thing. |

I met him, he was a guest of honour at the Youth Olympics in Bath in 1995 and I was working/studying and part of the team organising the event. It was a big event, with a cast of hundreds and I had to look after the guests at the opening ceremony. Everyone from Andi Peters (a creep) to Jeremy Guscott to Princess Anne to Anthea Turner.(delightful and very flirty).
In the middle of it was Thompson. He was fecking horrible, a huge narcissist and managed to piss off just about everyone there, treating everyone like shit and hitting on just about every young girl working in the team.. Wasn’t helped by he being the Adidas man and all the GB kit was Adidas.
