Hot, what?!
I've been in that London this week for work, and it looks like I picked 2 great days for travel..
..on the way out on Mon we were delayed because the king was arriving (although only a bit, but my colleague who was on a slightly later flight was delayed several hours) and now I'm coming back, planes and trains are all of a dither because of crowdstrike.
I have got through to departures now, but unclear yet if the flight will be effected.
Still, at least I got to catch up with a couple of mates after work yesterday, one I hadn't seen since before I left the country.

Morning. Melting. We’re off camping in the van later. The sink and hob are in, but not connected (due to a missing part in the sink waste and my incompetence cutting a gas pipe). Oh well… We just got lightly screwed by the Microsoft issue. Went to pick up some bits from Waitrose (sorry!) which was only accepting cash. Unsurprisingly, we didn’t have any, so went to the hole in the wall, which ate 299’s card and then the lady behind us in the queue, who foolishly tried to get money when she knew exactly what had happened to us. So, back home to get my card and 299’s ID, cancelled her card, got some cash from the bank and paid for shopping with £££… it must have been my first supermarket transaction with notes in a decade - very odd! I don’t often even carry a card these days - I pay using my ring… (steady, IM..!) mclear.com/product/payment-ring/#descriptionSo much more convenient and a massive talking point…. Paying on the ring really confuses people and makes me look like some kind of Jedi master… |

I thought I'd take the dog out for an early morning walk as she doesn't like the heat, but even before 9am it was hot and we didn't get far. I don't expect we'll go further than the garden until later this evening. She's currently happily dozing as our front room will be fairly cool until the sun hits it later this afternoon.
Glad I'm not at work today with all the Microsoft nonsense. Our place has gone fully Microsoft, it's madness, so any time there's an update it's chaos. At least at home my records are analogue so they're working fine, and even my digital music is on an external hard drive. The kettle is Microsoft free too, so I'm all good.

Afternoon Scummers
Been to visit the Aunt today. Hottest day of the year so Island Bastard Roads dig up the busiest junction in East Wight so a 10 minutes journey takes half an hour. WABOC!!
Even Bart had a drink after walkies today. I carry a bottle of water in the car and when I judge he is hot I pour some in his bowl. He usually studiously avoids it so I chuck it but today he was all "camel at the oasis".
Lovely and cool indoors and too hot to do anything much out till the sun is off the patio. So TV catching up for YT.
Any of you boys off to Beastleigh tonight?

In the end, bit of a storm in a teacup... about 15mins late, which is pretty standard.
Now I've got to brace myself for some guests I don't really know (they're already here but currently out and are staying til tue)... can't say I feel that sociable after several days training and beers last night.
