morning my beauties
I am up early for what I hope is the last time for a month or so.
Mrs beast has gone off to work in the school where she works,4which will be the last day she will work until next term, Miss beast has gone off to work in the emergency department as a student nurse and master beast is starting the penultimate penultimate day of school before summer holidays.
I want to feel all "summer holiday" but then I look outside and beastly is grey, chilly, windy and as unedifying as it can be in these weather conditions.
I am doing sweet FA
And liking it

Morning
Itchy Monday.
We spent the weekend camping just outside Alresford on a campsite apparently run by Florence (and the Machine)’s dad… a nice chap.
It was gorgeous weather when we got there on Friday evening, but you all know how it worked out. Still, it was fun most of the time and the van was cosy and dry.
I woke up yesterday morning itching and have basically been eaten by little bitey bastards. My legs (in particular my ankles, right hip and behind my left knee) are peppered. I’ve got other random ones on my arm, under my armpit and a couple of torso ones. It’s difficult to count them, but I have over 30 on my right leg and over 25 on my left. It’s like I’ve got the completed works of Shakespeare written on me in braille. Just horrendous. I’ve got some cream, but it’s useless and I’m itching to buggery.
Meanwhile, 299 is untouched. Life is not fair.
Right. I need another coffee, then I’d better start work.

S isn't happy, she has three more days of teaching left, B has finished for the summer and my sister has two days of teaching to go.
Finding motivation to work hard after last week's reorganisation meeting. I'm not really affected too much, but others are having to re-apply for their jobs, which is shit.
Can't wait for some time off.

Years ago, I was told that I probably had a higher-than-average sugar level in my blood. Since then, I never go near water in the Summer without plenty of ant-mozzie spray! When we went to NZ at Christmas time, I managed to survive six weeks without a single sandfly bite and believe me; they are blood-sucking little vampires. |

Greetings R&W Bretheren
It has been damp enough to set my osteo off all weekend so I'm as grumpy as feck now. Watched lots of golf though and hoped to see Rosie bring the Claret Jug darrn 'Ampshyre but Schauffele wasn't having it. Fantastic round from the German/French/Taiwanese "Yank" leaving Rosie 2 shots back with Billy Hamster. Wasn't expecting the Test to finish as quick as it did as for the first 3 innings we had a match. Fair play to Bashir though, 5 wickets in a session ain't bad!
End of Summer finished Saturday. Didn't suss the ending although the clues were there. No idea where The Jetty is neaded but will find out in real time tonight.
Doing a bit of writing today and walkies when my joints permit.

Morning all
I'm back at work after last week in that London. I don't feel that rested as we have guests so have been ferrying them around to the sights and entertaining over the weekend... including a 10 mile walk round the coastline yesterday. They're perfectly acceptable company, but after last week of dealing with lots of people I don't know, I could do with a day to recharge the sociability batteries but instead I'm here at work.
Fairly dray and grab over here too today, but at least we had a few nice sunny days beforehand. Only a 3 day week too as we're off to Essex to see some mates on Thu.. fingers crossed the weather resolves itself before then. I have realised we've dropped a minor bollock on the timing as the Olympics kicks off this weekend, but I guess they might be miffed if I plonk myself in front of their telly to watch the 4x4 tiddlywinks.
I've got a few bites myself, but that's not from going anywhere, just our bloody bedroom.. despite spending time leaping round the bedroom with a swat before bed the last couple of nights the bastard mozzies still somehow keep sneaking in.

Seriously what is with this weather.... 2 summer now and hardly a hot day... Is this climate change, just a couple of bad summers (Its been known) or something more fishy.. Struggling to see while Europe is melting and a short hop away we are soaking

Struggling to see while Europe is melting and a short hop away we are soaking Yes, it's climate change. The changes are causing a diversion of the gulf stream meaning we're experiencing milder winters and cooler wetter summers with occasional peaks of heat when the European mainland heat leaks over. Enjoy it while it lasts, as it'll probably get even more fun after that. |
