No place for Chappers on the bench, do we think he is being punished for Tuesday? He says on Twitter he's fit? NA loves a bit of Guly eh... How was our Billy?

It sounded like we were back to our early season best. Not sure Chaplow would be punished for Tuesday as he was only just back. Not sure why he wasn't even a sub. And Puncheon didn't get on. Will he throw another wobbly?

Rickie was imperious. Haven't seen a first touch like his today since Matty. Sharp made some fantastic runs; definitely brings a new dimension and the signs were there that him and Rickie will form a deadly partnership, and quickly. Jos was a rock, Cork was everywhere and Guly had a good but unspectacular game. Overall, today was the day we got our mojo back, and just in time for tues night. Cardiff losing today also enables us to go to Wham a little more relaxed.

Well that was more like it! We look like we are getting back to our early season form. It was noticable that Saints were getting the ball into the box much earlier. Rickie and Sharp look like they will terrorise defences. Rickie was indeed superb as were Jos and Jose, Cork and Morgan. Lots of good pairings in the team now. Lallana looks like he is getting his form back and Guly played well in what looks like his most comfortable position. I was very surprised at the approach from Burnley, they didn't press us at all and were inviting trouble. I don't know why Connolly's goal was given offside, it looked ok to me. Very happy with that performance tonight. Questions have been asked of this team recently and they have just gone some way to answering them. Have they got the stomach for a promotion push? Looks like they do!

I guess there was just no place for Chaplow today, it's going to happen to players for the rest of the season. Can't add too much to what Rags and Batts have said, although I thought Richardson was great in the first half, and although Lee only have a few minutes he looked sharp and keen. I was too far away from Connolly's goal tower if it was offside or not. We looked like us again.

I guess we really do have some strength in depth now. Really looking forward to Tuesday, we go top again if we win right?

Certainly puts the pressure right on them for Tuesday. What is certain is that if one team can put together an excellent run over the next ten games, then promotion could be all but guaranteed. Points are being dropped all over the shop, and it was Cardiff's turn today. And given today's performance, i reckon we are capable of putting that run together.

I am going to say it was because we were so good. But I was surprised at how little trouble Burnley gave us considering their record.
For once we passed the ball around and forward with speed. I was so satisfied I would give the starting 11, 8 all round.
I am a happy chappy.

I have commented in crash's thread, but no goalkeeper on the bench? Showing attacking intent, or what? Loved the Northam singing "There's only one Nigel Adkins", but were they also singing something about "Tandoori Lee"? If so, they need a collective geography lesson.... Best of all, look at these stats : Possession Southampton 57% Burnley 43% Shots Southampton 13 Burnley 4 On target Southampton 7 Burnley 2 Corners Southampton 13 Burnley 4 Fouls Southampton 16 Burnley 7

I thought we played really well apart from a 10 min period in 2nd half. Very suprised no place at all for Chaplow and that JP was on the bench.
That said, Lallana was class and I don't think gave the ball away all game, not seen him work that hard either. SRL was outstanding and though Billy really added something, he looks bright, intelligent and a proper player.
Everyone got an 8 or more, we should have scored at least 5, and I'm very curious to see of the disallowed goal was offside.
A very comfortable and impressive win.
