Is it overly negative? The summary seems to be that our form has fallen off of late and we aren't scoring as many goals as we did early season, both of which sounds fair.
Hopefully the arrival of Sharp will turn things around.
Not all that worried about West Ham. They seem well set-up for us, they are a defensive team, have no pace at all in midfield (Noble, Papa Dioup, Collinson, etc) and have been lumping the ball at Carthorse Cole. Yes, Vaz Te and Maynard will prob be starting but hopefully will be too soon for them to have fitted into their team.
The only player that have that worries be is Baldock. Hopefully Negative Sam will continue putting him on the bench tho!

Merrigton strikes me as a TUI type of bloke. IMO he would be truly chuffed to see Saint's miss out on promotion.

TUI summed itself up beautifully the other day when Dull Blanko complained that Guly played and blamed it on Cortese. Basically complaining about a player that had a very good game being in the team.

I think he tries parody of other posters from time to time. But he's flogging a dead horse.

Seemed pretty factual to me. The coming weeks are going to be the biggest test of Nige's managerial credentials thus far.

actually I think it completely overlooks the fact that we didn't have our main goalscorer (and best player all year) for three games or all of our first choice defence during this period … both fairly significant points if you are going to argue that Southampton are basically out of the running now?
I'm not talking about the precise facts of the article, because by and large they are accurate, I'm not talking about some of the really bad games we played during that period, because we actually did play some really bad games during that period, what I'm saying is the whole premise of the article is that "Southampton is finished for this season, West Ham, Cardiff, Middlesbrough & Leicester not to mention anyone else is where it is at"!
I think it overlooks a fairly obvious premise, that actually the others aren't really any better and with the first choice 11 out we can beat them all (how's that for glowing positivity… I think I have to go and lie down now!)

This is serious journalism. The journalist knows feck all about the two teams and what has really been going on in recent weeks, so he decided to do some proper research and contacted Uncle Dave before writing his brilliant, insightful piece (and I'm sure misquoted or half-quoted him because Dave was very impressed with us against Burnley and understood that we had our first choice XI out for the first time in many weeks). I'm glad I read it because I feel better informed about our situation.
