I had to smile at the Appleton press conference yesterday when he said that they couldn't afford a scan to confirm how bad Liam Lawrence's injury was. He really didn't see the irony in saying this about a player that was signed on the highest wage that they pay, after they'd gone into administration the last time and could afford to pay for the scan himself many, many times over if he was that committed to the club.

Why do they keep mentioning Plan B? Are they filming The Sweeney in Pompey. If so, where is Ray Winstone then?

At least Pompey didn't get to choose their administrator of choice, the obnoxious Andrew Andronikou, but instead HMRC's choice of Trevor Birch of PKF.
So maybe, just maybe, they won't get away with it this time.

There was a complete Desperation Man outside Fratton on SSN earlier claiming that it's all the Football League's fault.

Bugger. That means West Am keep their 6 points. They haven't got to the end of the season yet! It'll be interesting to see what an 'independent' Administrator uncovers.

I thought exactly the same thing..Surely a professional football would want to get himself checked and sorted ASAP, unless he's too thick to work that out?

Or unless he knows he'll be ok soon but it waiting to have his contract cancelled and doesn't want to risk taking another knock that might hamper his prospects of signing elsewhere?
