Jacob Butterfield captained Barnsley in their best spell of the season, scored a pot full of goals and generally looked bloody fabulous as an attacking central midfielder before he got injured, and he is in his early 20s... food for thought

Couldn't agree more with losters and shirls. Nige has built a team with leaders throughout, and I'm sure he will continue to do so as the team evolves. If he does decide we do need another leader in the team, then a prerequisite for that role should not be that the player is old. Exactly. I seem to remember Dave Jones bringing in the likes of Hughes, Ripley and Howells- grizzled old pros looking for one last pay day. Remind me how that worked out for us? It's an unimaginative approach taken by uninspiring managers. In any sport, leadership of a team comes from within and not from a single individual. If a team relies too much on its captain for leadership, then you're buggered. Ask Ricky Ponting and how much more difficult he found it to win when he lost Warne, McGrath, Hayden, Gilchrist etc. Difficult to replace for their abilities alone, but I can guarantee Ponting found it a very lonesome business after he lost all of those.

Not so sure about the four players you want us to sign from a team that has just been relegated with three games to spare though.

I'm not advocating oldsters coming in, but I'd like to see a couple of slightly older heads with Prem experience (or experience of playing in A top league) for CM and CB, because a few times we've looked like headless chickens out there even when Hammond wasn't playing. We all have our off-days, and our players are going to have tough games where their natural talent may not be enough and having a steadying hand on their shoulder may help them through those.

He is indeed left footed and, if not permanently nakked by the injury he is currently getting over, a talented young individual with flair and attacking ability. As for the Wolves players, Jarvis & Fletcher are pretty much no-brainers, both of them playing excellently even in the Wolves team, Kightly I thought could provide us some width on the right should our fullbacks be pinned back and would really only be a squad player, Hennessy I thought might be a good long-term solution but as far as goalkeepers go I think there are better out there but he would probably be available for the right price and he doesn't seem like a "Billy big bollocks" so might be able to work with Kelvin over the near term. to be fair to those players I mentioned, there's only three that are certain first choice players for Wolves and between them they aren't going to make up for the other nine!

There have been a few games this season when he have lamented the lack of a leader to pull the other players together and get them playing again. Blackpool being a recent case in point. That sort of leader, it seems to me, is missing. That doesn't mean being "old". It's about having drive and a strong inner belief that cannot be dented when things start to go wrong.

Fletcher is shit. Always has been, always will be. He's never scored more than a dozen goals a season at any level and doesn't offer any other option (hold up play etc.). He wouldn't have even got into our side at Championship level.

Chaps...my point was...that Kuzczhak has been absolutely fantastic for Watford, they have been on a great run and he has been the main reason for that.....we need two keepers and he has a point to prove.

I think considering he has only been playing top-level football for a little while (and at Wolves !) he would be ripe for a good Nigeling Check out his statistics for the last couple of seasons, I bet they look good (I haven't done it myself so I could be talking crap, I just seem to remember every time I've seen him play he has either scored one or made a clear goalscoring opportunity for someone else)?
