Morning.
Tired this morning after going out to see Nick Harper last night at a free Devizes Festival Fringe event. I did wonder how they could get him to appear at such a small pub (There were probably about 100 people crammed into this very small pub), but it appears he lives near Marlborough (and was brought up in Pewsey) and is friends with the pub landlord.
He was really, really good and we spent the second half of the gig only about ten feet away from him. I was amazed to find that his dad, the excellent Roy Harper, is still appearing at the ripe old age of 71 and I see he is doing a three gig tour in October at the Royal Festival Hall in London, Manchester Bridgwater Hall and the Bristol Colston Hall, so I think I might make the effort to go and see him in Bristol.
It seems that they appear together fairly frequently, which is nice.
Right, gardening to do today.
Tea first.

Good morning all
Thank feck that bloody wind has dropped. I did a few hours in the front garden yesterday and was about to come in when Drew said the dogs were missing. Next doors' fence was broken and the spaniels had got in there - and the neighbours were out FFS. So I had to break in to get the dogs back and then go back with hammer and nails to repair the fence. Rover was not pleased that I made him leave the "meerkat toy" he had purloined behind.
Brazil looked a different prospect in their first competitive game for 3 years. Maya had a decent enough game and made some timely interceptions but Japan just could not hold the ball long enough to make a real game of it. Will watch both today's games - the early one live and Uruguay v Spain on Sky+.
Not sure if I'll get any gardening done today. Will walk dogs after breakfast and we'll be getting rain not long after.
Omelette. The (non) Andrew Marr show.

Howdy. Back into the classroom today. I used to love Roy Harper. I had heard that he was still playing. Not sure about the weather as have not been out. I am guessing hot and sunny.

Up early, decided to have a grapefruit with my breakfast, just because I could.
Not got much planned for today, but will probably do some pottering about on our websites while relaxing with some god-awful noise.
Watched the Brazil v Japan game mainly to watch Maya. Brazil played quite well, but I felt the commentators went a bit OTT in their praise.
Had tea, want more tea
No music yet...

Morning all, mixed grey n white out..
Not the most exciting weekend, helped out at 5yrold's birthday party (she's our (not)goddaughter and mum is now single), which was "fun"...did enjoy the new sport we invented though - cupcake rallying - trying to keep a plate of iced cupcakes on the plate while being driven at speed down windy country lanes, though.
Not sure what today holds, depends which way the weather goes, I guess.. main task for the day is reintroducing the cat to the wild after being shut indoors for over a month.
I hope you took your hat off to Roy Harper, Channers.
Tea & Eng v SL highlights.

morning
I was surprised to find the TV had recorded match of the day which I had completely forgotten about, watched the highlights of the Japan versus Brazil game and concur with Tone really, it was okay and a couple of cracking goals but Brazil did not look exactly like we expect Brazil to look.
It was highlights only Though so it's a bit difficult to tell without looking at the whole game, looking forward to the Uruguay game tonight though, hopefully see our boy do well for them.
Power went out yesterday from 1350 On and off all the way up to about 8 PM, it's very bizarre having no electricity, everything kind of stops. Luckily the missus Had enough foresight to cook our dinner in the hour and a half we had of power before it went out again just before dinner, I suspect we were the only ones eating in the whole area has apparently the outskirts of everything got blacked out by some tree falling on some wire.
Today I think will be filled with A bit of writing and stopping my wife killing my children, they are very Loud and noisy and my boy is getting seriously into the "terrible twos" which is a bit of a shock as my daughter (a fair while ago now) never really exhibited this kind of behaviour.

Morning chaps Coffee tastes so much better using my new Specials mug. Nice one son! I'm being treated to lunch out today. Nice. Had an interesting lunch in Stockbridge yesterday as there were no vegetarian options and so when I enquired what they could do I was told by the very arrogant young French woman running the place that it was very difficult to source vegetarian food! I pointed out that all she had to do was leave out the fish/meat from any one of the ten "salads" on the menu and that would do but apparently that was beyond them. I can't stand places that are so far up their own arses they seem to forget they are in the service industry. I suppose that's to be expected in places like Stockbridge. Liking the new signing and the way it happened. I see that even McMenemy is starting to come round to the Saints way of doing things nowadays. Coffee

Morning all
Celebrating Fathers Day on my own as Mrs R has left to see hers at her sister's near Oxford. I did get cards from all 3 'kids' though which could well be a first. At least I can do a spot of decorating in peace.
Ah so that's who he is. Hats Off To (the) Harper(s).

As a local I'm guessing you were in The Three Cups.

The stroppy French waitress seriously needs a good slap in the mush.
