Ah, those Pony ones - they were the first I bought- home and third. Massive, voluminous monstrosities.
On a separate note - I have absolutely no recollection of us ever, ever wearing that white away kit for 2012-13. I remember the yellow one from the previous season - but did we ever wear the white one?

What was the deal with the '91-'93 away kit? Both the blue and the yellow shirts had that "flame" pattern.
Despite looking dodgy I still have fond memories of them. We wore the blue Admiral kit at Wembley in the Full-members Cup final in 1992 where we lost 3-2 (again) to Nottingham Bastard Forest.
Our team that day had some classic Old Skool Saints: Tim Flowers, Jeff Kenna, Franny Benali, Barry Horne, Kevin Moore, Neil Ruddock, Le God, Glenn Cockerill, Alan Shearer, Iain Dowie and Terry Hurlock.
I had a "flame" Saints scarf - blue on one side but red on the other so you could wear it to home games. I must still have it as I have never thrown anything away...

I think it is an age thing. Most of us who started supporting Saints in the 80s don't have much affinity with stripes as for most of the 80s we didn't wear them. Those who grew up in the 70s seem to feel more strongly about the TGI Fridays uniforms.
The good thing about our kit is that we are red and white but not always in stripes. I would be quite happy if we carried on what was happening in the first few years when the Liebherrs took over and alternated between stripes and non-striped home kits.

My favourite kits are the '76-'80 version of stripes, but the 80's Rank Xerox/Air Florida will always be my favourite. This years kit is an abomination, made bearable by the players wearing it being best team I have ever seen!

My favourite kits are the '77 version of stripes, but the 80's Rank Xerox/Air Florida will always be my favourite. This years kit is an abomination, made bearable by the players wearing it, being best team I have ever seen! Surely we will soon have a retro Xerox kit? It would seem to be a move that would meet with almost universal approval.

I recall the red stripes as far less prominent than the graphic shows, though. edit: we wore it on that day because up till that point it had not been used, so it was brought out for those fans who had bought that kit. Not sure if it was used again.

On balance I'd say the 1994 AC Milan team and perhaps the 1970 Brazil team with Pele and Co might have been their equals.

I wonder where I heard the "it hasn't been used" thing, I'm sure it was being talked of on the day of the cup game. Nice one.
