What are we gonna sport against Palace away? Sunderland had to have a special, one-off, third kit made last month, as their home and blue aways both clashed with Palace.

My favourite kits are the '77 version of stripes, but the 80's Rank Xerox/Air Florida will always be my favourite. This years kit is an abomination, made bearable by the players wearing it, being best team I have ever seen! Surely we will soon have a retro Xerox kit? It would seem to be a move that would meet with almost universal approval. I can't believe they haven't done that yet. As wedded as they may be to tradition, at the end of the day they need to make each kit different enough to the last to make it worth buying. I can't imagine it'd piss too many people off anyway as it's a throwback to the club's most successful era (I think) and it looks f*cking cool.
They should make it exceedingly tight. For the lay-deez.

I'd like to go back to blue shorts if we have to persist with the stripes.

I'd like to see us in the Feyenord type kit which I see we have worn in the distant past

Ajax or Monaco would be cool.

that Echo back page phone vote poll in the late 80s/early 90s which included a Monaco-style kit option.

I came in at '89 when Saints had just gone back to stripes and had a cracking young team.
I also have fond memories of the blue flame shirt ZDS Final in '92.
I would happily settle for a Feyenoord style or Rank Xerox style home shirt next time.
I liked the current away shirt enough to let my Mum buy it for me. I am 35.

my first game would have been 78 I think, so admiral stripes me up. Southampton always felt like stripes for me.

Ah, those Pony ones - they were the first I bought- home and third. Massive, voluminous monstrosities. On a separate note - I have absolutely no recollection of us ever, ever wearing that white away kit for 2012-13. I remember the yellow one from the previous season - but did we ever wear the white one? They had to be fairly huge in size to accommodate the players we had wearing the Dimplex kit. By all accounts they trialed a slimmer version of it but MLT, Peter Reid and Terry Hurlock looked like theirs had been sprayed on and therefore the club felt it necessary to go with more voluminous sizes.

My first game in 1966. It was stripes all the way for me. And I still like those socks with the single white hoop. WBA away 1969. The one hooped sock will always be a part of me.
