So, a poll. What do we think?
I know that what I think will happen is not necessarily what I would like to see .....

For a bit of 04/05 symmetry, Wigley was a dead man walking for a game at Old Trafford which we lost 3-0 I think, before he got the boot. Generally the idea for a lot of sackings is you let the old manager get the nasty games out of the way so that the new manager bounce can come in a game you have half a chance in (see Fulham's logic). On that basis I think Hughes will get another couple of weeks and we might get someone for Cardiff. The DoF situation does add complexity.

I will be surprised but very happy if he walks this week. But sadly I think he still have a game or two left.

Sorry mate I mean walk as in having been sacked. I also think it is better to get him in for Man Utd. and Spurs as goal difference could be crucial.

I want "A", but voted "B" as the most likely...Saints glacial "leadership" will wait until his position is utterly untenable, rather than the current completely untenable.

I want "A", but voted "B" as the most likely...Saints glacial "leadership" will wait until his position is utterly untenable, rather than the current completely untenable. I don’t understand the club’s stance, that they want to give him time to turn things round. It is not like there is a long list of managers who have been terrible at the outset but suddenly everything has transformed. Genuinely, the only precedent for this I can think of is Alex Ferguson. And it isn’t like our problems are imperceptible. The defence is clearly incredibly poorly organised and suffers from poor selection. This is on the manager. We are the most neurotic team I think I’ve ever seen. We panic when we score, we panic when we concede. Again, this is on the manager. And given the way we fade in games, it seems the squad is not fit. Again, on the manager. These are not imperceptible issues that one can’t quite put one’s finger on. They are very real and present problems. Hughes doesn’t know his best players, cannot organise a defence, cannot get them fit and does not instil them with the mental strength needed to win games of football. This is not a case of a bit of luck needed to turn our season round. These are fundamentals.
