Personally I would play Henderson in goal but Southgate will choose Pickford. I think GS may well play Walker at RWB and Coady at CB. TAA only just scraped into the squad so I would be surprised if he went straight into the starting lineup. Obvs if Henderson is fit he'll play instead of Rice (who I really don't rate at all).

I see that Southgate has 'Thrown Down the Gauntlet' to Maguire and Henderson to 'prove themselves'.
Who reckons they will knack something trying to pick it up?
What is it with our tradition of having at least 2 injured/not match fit players in every squad?
Danny Ings must be fuming.

Pickford TAA -- Walker - Stones -- Chilwell Rice Henderson -- Mount Foden Grealish Kane
There's talk of Maguire not even being fit until the knockout stages.. I'd have considered bringing in White or Godfrey into the squad. Every time we take an injured player, they end up being a shadow of themselves.
I think we aren't going to achieve what we want (tournament victory) unless we learn how to feel confident with a team list that only has 2 central defenders.
There's one too many forwards in his squad and not enough midfielders. Feel for JWP.

England are always a joke, full of prima donnas that fail to perform against decent sides. The FA policies on selection from the Top 6 for revenue purposes highlights just how many tournaments they have failed at. Remember:

Realistically, what are England's chances of a trophy?
On paper, looking at the team I posted above can any other country boost being able to field six (just in that team, there's more in the squad) players from champions league finalists? On paper it should be a really strong side. Why is it that on the pitch in generally under-performs?

On paper we've got a good chance. The days seem to be gone of when teams like Spain, France, Italy and Germany dominated and it appears to be a lot more open now.
I think it may be a bit early for our young players though and GS doesn't really know what his best team/formation is.

I think it may be a bit early for our young players though and GS doesn't really know what his best team/formation is. It is more open now - just not for us probably. Germany will turn up as 'Tournament Germany' and win as per usual. For us - bringing Maguire and Henderson along is stupid - we all know what is going to happen there. We always do this. And we have an awful lot of similar wing-back/midfielder/forward-ish types - JWP would have been an asset under the 'Gives-you-Something-a -bit-Different thing all the old pros are always banging on about.
