I love him and would want him back but I don't know that his position is a priority with Fernandez, Lesley, Smallbone, Aribo in the squad After seeing Smallbone waste about a dozen corners on Saturday I’d be gagging for JWP to come back. Goals are gonna be an issue, his set pieces could be the difference.. 100000000000% I'd like to see him back

Still seen nothing this window to give any evidence to disprove my theory that SR have already raised the white flag on this season and are gratefully taking the cash and thinking of next season in the Champ. Saw something on TSW which made me laugh, no really I did. Ross Stewart has been on the SMS pitch for less minutes than Rod Stewart. Arent we one of the biggest spenders? 70M or something The majority on buying two players we had on loan in the Champ last season. Other than that we've added a couple of lower league CBs, a couple of veteran free agents, a FB and a couple of attacking wide players. It's not much of an improvement on the team who finished 3rd in tier 2 last season.

It's way too early to pass judgement on this window's business. There are still pending deals in the offing.

We spent a stupid amount last time we were here and it got us relegated. Let's wait and see

Yea, but we still bought them and I believe all wanted them, imagine if we;d missed out on Downes... we'd all be raging... that's cracking business and a lot of money

I don;t want to overspend... I worry we've gone a bit too heavy already!
We need to build a strong platform, trust the process and build our club back up again, its not going to happen in a year

I have to say Danny, as someone who avoids social media (where all the best gossip is), I always get excited when I see you have posted as it's usually quite juicy. Keep up the good work!! On a seperate note, this could be a good move. I had high hopes for Juan but perhaps he needs regular action elsewhere.

I like the look of our squad and the additions.. Lets see, but looks like we are giving it a sensible go and building a better squad. For what it is worth, IMHO obviously. We need a couple of ‘cast iron’ Premier League signings. A little concerned we are scatter gunning youngsters again…..

He was born in Sevilla and spent 5 years in their Academy. Great loan move but we need to keep the lad on our books.

He was born in Sevilla and spent 5 years in their Academy. Great loan move but we need to keep the lad on our books. I totally agree. It is about balancing finances within the Premier League profit and sustainability regulations and UEFA profit and sustainability Rules. It's a nightmare web of rules that do not seem to slow down the heavyweight clubs at the sharp end of the Premier League but disproportionately affect smaller clubs like Southampton. Mind you, that spending spree in January before relegation certainly didn't help, and it will take a minimum of another 12-24 months to deal with the after-effects of that farce. In the meantime, we need to keep hold of the better players with decent futures, like Larios.

That sounds promising. I saw a tweet in Turkish about Rui Patricio and Göztepe, assumed it was already a done deal and was coming on here to moan about it. I see he’s 36 but HCDAJFU for a season. He’s married to a TV sexologist. Man, I love Wikipedia. She supports sex before matches apparently. That’s good to know.
