Hughes will probably get another five year deal after that solid point. Don't whine about the disallowed goal, they should have had a definite penalty before. The master tactician drops two more from a winning position - his specialty

However, we could have done with the luck but it wasn't going to happen. Charlie Austin was furious in his interview, and very scathing of the officials but I think that will only get him a reprimand from the powers-that-be.

To offer a bit of perspective (hopefully), we were the better side for 70 mins of that game, we played some nice football 1st half due to us moving the ball quick and offering options though, to be fair, it was far from consistent and our lack of confidence was obvious. 2nd half felt far more dour, hold on to the 1 was the impression and every one about us felt, and vocalised as such. Definitely a goal, definitely a pen. Gabbi, armstrong, lemina all useful but as I'm typing this, I'm thinking no one had a shocker and no one was top drawer.
Summary. Shit result, should have won, we're not going down, long season ahead

Shit result, should have won, we're not going down, long season ahead That is almost exactly how I saw it as well. Pleased for Gabbi scoring and getting praised by Hughes in the post match interview. Playing on the right wing seemed to suit him, with Armstrong fitting in well, just behind Ings. shame that Danny injured himself in the warmup and wasn't able to shake it off. I just hope the injury has not been made worse by attempting to play on. Loved the Austin interview. That man was on the edge of foaming at the mouth. The officials had a bloody nightmare game, mistake after mistake. At least this week the players seemed to actually give a damn and gave their all. Still mentally fragile mind. Hoedt didn't have a shocker shock, but did still make mistakes. He did actually play football a bit though. Yoshi was the best defender by some margin. I hear that Long is probably going to have an operation on his injured foot, which will mean him being out for 4-6 weeks. If Ings injury also means him being out for a while, we are down to Charlie, Gabbi and Obafemi as the strike force. Eeek! In the game as a whole, I am encouraged, but one swallow, etc. PS That was the smallest gate I have seen for a league match since the League One days.

Being the better side for much of a game and only actually winning on 50% of those occasions should be about right for a decent team. With us under Hughes we win about 5% of the time. Every week people say the same crap along the lines of "it's OK, we looked promising" as if that's enough. It's about winning games and that's happened ONCE at home this year. Every sodding alarm should be ringing at full volume - it doesn't get much worse than this. We can easily stay up but only if we act fairly quickly - last year we got very lucky. STOP WASTING TIME.

After Watford scored, confidence bereft, just needed someone to get their foot on the ball, look at the runners etc. Nope, go long, go long. I think the bloke were after plays for Burton.

Nearly right... just changed the wrong CB... again In fairness Hoedt was good. I'm not his biggest fan but he had a decent game

I thought Saints played well for the most part but lost control of the game after the second was disallowed and never looked like they were going to go for another. They got what they deserved and Hughes has to go before it’s too late to recover the situation.
