Sessegnon would be good, but it's defensive MF we really need to strengthen in. Looks like Loftus-Cheek is doing to Villa. Hey-ho... We are being punished for keep winning at Stamford Bridge...

Sessegnon is surely using the Bertrand/KWP model to have a look at a long term replacement for Bertrand, right? He can play anywhere up the left and now Bale has arrived and about 6 full backs at Spurs it is clear they want him off the wage bill..
Makes perfect sense to me and I’m sure KWP is telling him the positives...

Not exactly a position we are currently in need of strengthening though, Bertrand no1 choice and Vokins no2 - a DMF with an eye for a pass is the priority, a Wanyama type please

Back to transfer bollux. Loftus Cheek FFS? Why? However, I like the look of this blokeSangare now joined PSV, word on the street is that they've got a bit of a bargain. I wonder if that was the 'first choice we've missed out on' that Ralph was referring to? Either way, can we get on with signing someone please?

Apparently refused a work permit.
@adamblackmore · 2h #saintsfc Referring back to this tweet below because Sangaré has come out and said Saints were slow, endearing himself to PSV
The FA refused him a work permit is what happened - not much player or club could do & was source of RH frustration when he said ‘missed out’ last week.

Relegated with Toulouse from Ligue 2 last year. 5 Caps for Ivory Coast in 4 seasons. Best he got was PSV when Toulouse desperate to fire sale their assets after relegation. I think we might of dodged a bullet.

Not much the club can do if he's not granted a work permit. I guess the only criticism we could level at them is they might have checked eligibility prior to pursuing him, but I don't know if that's how it works

Looks good. How about any Midfielder? I would settle for a deadline day double swoop for Telfer and Jermaine Wright....

Looks like we are close to paying off the last year of Carrillo's contract early and letting him walk away for nothing - just to get rid of the stench. £22m in transfer fees + £11m in wages for literally 10 games of nothing. All because a manager weeks from being sacked wanted him. What was Reed thinking??? Hands down this must be the worst transfer deal in PL history. (and one that is very much still hurting us to this day). as.com/futbol/2020/09/29/primera/1601405949_942606.html

I think that Kepa at Chelsea is probably worse overall, a world record for a goalie who is rubbish is a more high profile transfer mistake. But relative to the transfer budget of the club, yes Carrillo is worse. The mistake was keeping Pellegrino for those extra few weeks when it was obvious he was taking us down, the change needed to be made before the transfer window closed. Having kept him, the club kind of had to back him with a striker even though it seemed like throwing good money after bad. We got lucky that Hughes had enough new manager bounce to rescue us, even if he was little better in the long run.

Yes, he makes mistakes, but he has been a regular first team starter for several years, made over 70 appearances and been the keeper for a team that won the Europa League and qualified for this year's CL. No comparison between that and 10 games of nothingness!

I see Aston Villa have signed Ross Barkley on a season long loan, which might open up the chance for RLC to come our way . . . . . .
