Joe Hart is a target for Celtic. Rather suggests they don't expect Fraser to stay - unless Joe has got used to sitting on benches...

Ship Angus out on loan for a season. That makes us far stronger in the GK position than we currently are.

Matty Cash linked again. Think he was linked last summer.
Hopefully not the end of our KWP interest. Decent player but I'd prefer KWP. That said, both would be nice. Valery seems to have gone backwards considerably.

Valery seems to have gone backwards considerably. It seems like we're looking at several RB options, no doubt foreseeing the likelihood that Levy is a c*n*.

Latest I've seen is that we have agreed to pay £10m for KWP and accepted £18m for PEH from Spurs - negotiation now is the payment structure, Spurs want to pay in installments but we want the money up front so that we can then go and get an immediate replacement, which would be Weston McKinnie

There are reports linking us with 3 right backs, besides Cash and Walker-Peters, one in Holland. I really hope we don't end up buying the cheapest option at RB so we can then buy the cheapest at CB so we can then also afford a CM.
From what I saw after lockdown, get KWP and you know you are solidly filling the position for years to come with the player already tactically integrated.

I think theres games being played. We are pretending we have other RB options, when KWP couldnt have made more of an impression in a short loan spell, and looked over the moon (Brian) to be part of this team. Now Lavy will put it out there that there are others interested, even if there arent. Moyes vs Ralph - a tough choice for a young footballer

Can't see KWP wanting a relegation battle with the skint Porn Merchants when he can come to Saints.

What do we make of reports last night that PEH is off to Spurs for £15m and KWP is coming this way for £12m?
Hoping it's true but some dispute about the fees being reported. Personally I'd take the straight swap. PEH wants away and has a yr on his contract, KWP improves the squad in a very weak position, is relatively young and is home grown so that all comes at a premium. PEH has been a great servant but I really dont get the hype, he's a PL version of Dean Hammond, decent but nothing special. Whereas KWP is the best RB we've had since Clyne who was very bloody good for us. I'm also amazed that FBs don't sell for more these days, they're so important to the game defending and attacking, look at the success Liverpool have having two top drawer full backs. If we get KWP and Bertie is on the other side we're as strong as nearly every PL club in those positions for first choice players.

Chelsea are sniffing around Ben Chilwell and have (allegedly) been quoted a price in excess of what we sold Virgil to the Scousers for.

Spurs will probably feel that financially they've got the better of it, PEH has a lot more games under his belt while still being young and approaching his prime, the contract issue has allowed them to take advantage and Saints didn't have much leverage to squeeze the full value from the player. They've spent a paltry amount to lose a player they didn't want and gain a player they did. But Saints are probably the team who will benefit more from the impact of the two players. As you say, KWP looks the part and we'd have trouble finding someone else at short notice, or at least have a battle for someone like Matty Cash or whoever. Cedric was good at times, but KWP looks a bit more consistent. I liked PEH but the end of the season showed that we won't miss him that much. For all his qualities, I'd struggle to specify anything that he's brilliant at. He can pass it, can sometimes shoot (but also is a bit wild when chances fall to him unexpectedly), can tackle, decent engine. He does all those things pretty well, and I guess he's quite a good leader who Mourinho might want to represent him on the pitch, but he also had shortcomings in all those areas compared to a top level equivalent, like the job Gini Wijnaldum does for Liverpool, say. I don't think he'll transform Spurs, although he'll do ok for them at that price.

Sky have announced Salisu but like Onebeat says, not official until it's on the OS £10m is a lot for someone who only has one season behind them. A year ago we were desperate for a CB but our first choice pair is fine now and I know Vestergaard has his critics but I think he's ok as backup and to sometimes come in when we want a more physical presence in there and don't expect to have to deal with quick counters. So I'm not sure we really need this guy, unless he turns out to be fantastic and we've spotted a bargain. I would have rather put the cash towards a Hojbjerg replacement, McKennie sounds promising and will probably cost around £20m, we'd probably need to sell before we afford him. I realise a lot of this post involves guesswork about player ability and our cashflow, but that's my initial thoughts.
