Will we manage to score one more goal than Coventry? I guess the additional question that occurs to me is, after the last couple of matches when performances have dropped off a cliff, will we manage to win another game this season??
Martin's crackpot team selections and tactics seem hellbent on ending the season prematurely for Saints.

Yup, no real expectation from me that we'll win any more games this season. It's very disappointing with the squad that we have that they've lost their way so significantly... the fact that this coincides with the shoehorning of Stephens into the team seems completely lost on Martin, as he's put out an interview this weekend doubling down on it, as he thinks it's going well despite all evidence to the contrary.

Tough game, all the more so for their result at the weekend. If we dont put in a good first half, I fear some of the rancour of autumn will ring out. Just have to hope their eyes are firmly on their upcoming Cup semi final.
As mentioned on TSP, with 2 centre forwards, the Stephens as extra centre-back / non LB experiment probably suits this game. But pity whoever plays left wing that they'll be less supported.
Adams not Adam as striker. My memory of the reverse fixture was they were quite solid and we were quite unpenetrative, so there needs to be no fecking around up front.
1-2 defeat, hoping to be pleasantly disappointed. Our record in midweek matches this season is poor and I approach each further one with less enthusiasm.

The thought of this game is filling me with sadness.
I want Edozie to start. He won’t, though. I think he will go:
Baz
KWP. Stephens. Bedders. Manning
Stu. Downes. Aribo.
Brooks. Che. AA.
Not sure what to expect anymore. I’m wobbling more than Saints.

Feck. Too soon for another match after the trauma of the last (2/9) three disasters...

Come on gents (and of course any ladies reading this) - it's not all doom and gloom, whilst Boro & Blackburn were hugely disappointing, my understanding from reports on here and elsewhere were that we were by far the better team against Ipswich (which I know is even more disappointing!) and really should have won. The lesser teams, those outside the top six, have worked us out, and we have no/little alternative to crack a solid defence and midfield who then grow in confidence and catch us on the break. This is why we have failed to win more matches than we have, we've drawn too many and we've lost too many. Our squad and our management team have under performed . . . . . . .
But, and it's a big BUT, let's not forget the train crash we were, that run of bloody awful games, that run of bloody great games, a complete change in playing style, a complete change in tactics and in the management team. Should we be better than 4th, yes probably, is the season a complete disaster, no, have most of us really enjoyed this season, yes, are we disappointed that we've stuttered lately when all above us have as well, of course, do managers make mistakes, yep, do players miss open goals, yes, are any of them trying to fail, of course not - that's football and that's why we love it!!
Could we still go up by winning the play off final - absolutely we could!! so, lets not give up completely just yet, form is a fickle thing, it can return as quickly as it departed!!

That was an interesting post on a prev thread about how many games Stephens is contracted to play if he is fit, seems just like the bonkers sort of caveat SR would put in to seal a deal, and quite possibly complete and utter bunkum, who knows - there is a big part of me that would rather see Bednarek dropped if Stephens has to play, better to swap a CB for a CB rather than shoehorning him in as a LB, or even worse, at RB! However, our poor run cannot be blamed on RMs selection of Stephens, if we scored the goals our attacking 5 should do we would still be in the mix for automatic promotion, this is a key area of failure to not only create chances, but convert them - the stats show that we are joint 3rd scorers with Leeds, Leicester are 2nd, Ipswich are top - from the attacking options we have, we should be top, by a mile, I don't know why it's not working, but it's not - time for a change maybe?? Could Brooks play up front, with Fraser he seems to be our most natural finisher, and give Edozie and Amo-Ameyaw another chance. Maybe??

Either of Tyler Dibling or Dom Ballard for an appearance from the bench?

Oh bugger. It is on the sodding red button.
I was planning to watch the Lionesses. Leah Williamson is back after a year out with a buggered ACL and I want to watch us win.
Will have to record one...

Time for change, it won't happen, but I'd like it to;
Lumley
KWP Bednarek THB Meghoma
Stu Downes Aribo
Edozie Brooks Fraser

299 has got her mardy face on and I’m in the doghouse.
If things continue like this, I’ll be on my own tonight watching the game. If we make up, I’d better spend the evening with her watching some sh1t on the telly…
Can’t work out if this is a win/win or a lose/lose.

I took son, his girlfriend & my youngest daughter to the Huddersfield game, a very nice Saints employee gave us all flags outside the ground, my flag has been in my office at work, much to many visitors interest and scorn, since then we have been on a shocking run of form, therefore in the best traditions of changing something my flag has been moved to a different corner of the office, if we win tonight it's thanks to me, if we lose it's all RMs fault. And Stephens. And Kameldeens. And Adams. And Sports Republics. And VAR. And Sunaks. And the eclipse. And mild chedder. And Clive Woodward, in fact it's all Clives fault, thats it, bloody egg chaser . . . . . .
